Truth & Why We Love the Catholic Faith!

There are not one hundred people in the United States who hate the Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they wrongly perceive the Catholic Church to be.

Venerable Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen

The Everyday Ediths topic for the month of June is “trust.” And, as always, we attempt to write about how our theme impacts our faith, our family, and the seasons (either natural seasons, or seasons in life). As with all faith, there is a certain level of trust that goes into practicing and believing – in God, in Jesus, in the Holy Spirit.

Archbishop Sheen’s quote references some of the trust that goes into the Catholic Faith. It’s not easy to always be Catholic, and it isn’t always easy to understand some of the Church’s teachings.

But, where our understanding or knowledge begins to wane, we have the ability to trust – in God, in His Mercy, and in His Truths. And, with a little help to prod us when we are faltering, we are able to place that trust into action, and fully deepen our love affair with God… through the Catholic Church.

The Catholic Women Bloggers Network (CWBN) Blog Hop topic this month is “Why I Love My Catholic Faith.” Below, you will find links to some of our Everyday Ediths’ contributing bloggers’ responses to why each of them individually love their Catholic Faith. We hope you will head over to see the unique, individual reasons why they love and embrace their Catholic Faith.

Anni from A Beautiful, Camouflaged Mess of A Life shares how her reversion to the Catholic Faith happened after exploring other religions. When everything else seemed to lack something, one comfort kept pulling her back in… and, that comfort is ultimately what let her Home to the Catholic Church. The fact that this topic was scheduled for the Tuesday after the Feast of Corpus Christi did not escape her notice!

Ginny from Not So Formulaic tackles several of the misconceptions of the Catholic Faith heard by many people – specifically reminding readers that she is a proud Catholic woman, who is in love with her Faith, and doesn’t shy away from explaining the truth behind what the Catholic Church teaches. Rounding out her article, she asserts she is proud to be a Catholic woman, in love with her Faith, and an, “honored, respected member of the Body of Christ.”

Kirby from Under Thy Roof shares how she has always enjoyed reading about the – wait for it – heresies that have occurred throughout the ages! Simply because, learning about them, leads her into further study on Catholic Church teachings, and allows the teaching of the Church to unfold to reveal her beauty, and depth of wisdom. Leaning on her lifelong study of Catholicism, Kirby shares insight behind her defense of the Catholic Faith and explains her defense in a compassionate manner!

Leslie from Life In Every Limb identifies five reasons she loves the Catholic Faith – and, the reasons may surprise you! From the teachings, to the wisdom found, to the historical roots, Leslie really rounds out an in-depth, personal journey to identify what calls her to embrace and love her Catholic Faith. I’m not naming these reasons on purpose – I want you to click the link and go peruse on your own!

Then, be sure to check out some other inspiring Catholic women, part of the Blog Hop, as they explain why they love their Catholic Faith!
