Friendship is a strong bond built upon the state of mutual trust and support between people. This bond is so strong that it becomes a great influence on your life and the lives of those closest to you. I believe the closest friendships we all have is with Christ but what about the other relationships in our lives? Do they help us grow as faithful followers?
I see friendship as another great tool to grow in faith. God gave us the desire to want to be connected so that we could do great things. I am sure at one time or another you have heard the phrase “Birds of a feather flock together”. Everyone has the capacity to love so let’s send that love into the world by fueling friendships that make us all better versions of ourselves.
What a great favor God does to those He places in the company of good people!

Pure Flix and Pray
I couldn’t help myself with this cute spin-off from the popular “Netflix and Chill” phrase that I see on social media constantly. With phrases like that it is easy to see that movie streaming has become a popular activity over the past few years. What could be better than grabbing some of your favorite people to squeeze onto a comfy couch with some delicious snacks?! How about watching a film that stirs emotions inside of you that you can have a real and meaningful conversation or praying with the people you love the most?
If you were unaware there are several Catholic and Christian based streaming websites that you must check out! Pure Flix and Formed are two of my favorites. There is a small fee to use Pure Flix but Formed has reached out to our Catholic Parishes and offers free streaming with a unique code.
So grab your best friend and plan a Pure Flix and Pray Night! You can make the popcorn and they can bring the wine. I also wouldn’t be upset if I started to see #pureflixandpray go viral on social media with pictures of you enjoying time with your friends.
WINE also known as Women in the New Evangelization is an amazing book club that includes some books that can light your soul ablaze. Join a WINE book club or if you are ambitious, start your own! If you check out the link above there is access to many resources to join in this amazing faith inspired book club. This is a great way to bond with some of your closest friends or create new friendships.
Reading has always been one of my favorite hobbies. It can transport you in time and altar reality and perspective. If you aren’t convinced yet, several of the writers here at Everyday Ediths participated in reviewing a book that was hosted through WINE called A Walk in Her Sandals. Check out the profound effect this one book had on us in the links below:
I will be honest, I fell in love with this book club because of it’s name but I was drawn in by an amazing woman named Allison Gringas who writes over at Reconciled to you. I came for the WINE and stayed for the great company.
Fellowship is one of my favorite aspects of joining committees and volunteering at church. I get the opportunity to meet new friends or grow an established friendship by creating happy memories. As Catholics we need to start bringing more fellowship into our lives. Faith is meant to be fun and shared!
Combine your faith into your everyday activities and ask others to join you! Get creative and please share your ideas with us. I love to run and workout so I incorporate the Rosary while I run at times. I would love to start a running club that prayed. I also have a love of writing and I have been so blessed to have found fellowship here with these amazing ladies at Everyday Ediths.
God sends us friends to be our firm support in the whirlpool of struggle. In the company of friends we will find strength to attain our sublime ideal.
